On Wednesday, Nov. 22, members of Canada’s film, television and digital media industries gathered at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel to honour the recipients of the 2023 Crystal Awards, handed out by Women in Film & Television Toronto (WIFT Toronto). The luncheon gala recognized six women for their significant contributions to the country’s screen-based media industry.

This year’s award recipients included: radio and television personality Marilyn Denis for Creative Excellence; actress Missy Peregrym for International Achievement; Neishaw Ali, founding partner, president and executive producer of SPIN VFX, for Innovation; Victoria Harding, executive director of the Directors Guild of Canada – Ontario, for Business Achievement; Margot Daley, an unscripted producer, series producer, director and senior story editor, for Mentorship; and Catherine Tait, president and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada, received the Special Jury Award of Distinction.

Since the awards were stablished in 1988, more than 175 individuals have been recognized for their excellence in creativity, innovation, leadership, and their commitment to mentoring the next generation of industry creators and leaders.

Here, we share some photo highlights from the 36th annual WIFT Toronto Crystal Awards.
