Trump pays fine to lift contempt of court order
Former U.S. president Donald Trump paid a $110,000 (U.S.) fine to lift an order holding him in contempt of court for failing to adequately respond to a New York state subpoena for his records. He paid the fine on Thursday, according to a spokesperson for New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is probing potentially fraudulent asset valuations at Trump’s real estate company. He was held in contempt last month for failing to fully comply with a subpoena of documents in his personal possession relevant to the investigation.
