No hostage deal yet
There is no deal reached yet between Israel and Hamas to release hostages, a U.S. official said late Saturday. “No deal yet but we continue to work hard to get a deal,” White House National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in response to a Washington Post report that Israel and Hamas had arrived at a tentative, U.S.-brokered hostage deal. The Post report said an initial 50 or more hostages would be released in batches every 24 hours, which could start within the next several days. Under the terms of a six-page deal, all parties to the conflict would freeze combat operations for at least five days, said the report.
