MYERS STEPS DOWN

Bob Myers, president and GM of the Golden State Warriors, announced he’s leaving after building a powerhouse that captured four titles in an eight-year span and reached five straight NBA Finals starting in 2015. One of the most successful GMs in any sport, the 48year-old’s contract was set to expire in late June and there has been speculation for months about his future. “The bottom line is this job ... requires complete engagement, complete effort, 1,000 per cent. If you can’t do it, then you shouldn’t do it. That’s the answer to the question of why (now).”
