Renard steps in to coach France

Hervé Renard will coach the French women’s soccer team at this summer’s World Cup and next year’s Paris Olympics. The 54-yearold Renard quit as coach of Saudi Arabia’s national team earlier this week. Renard replaces Corinne Diacre, who was fired only four months before the tournament after several players expressed discontent. She led the team to the quarterfinals at the last World Cup in 2019.
