■ Charlie Thomas, a longtime member of the R&B group the Drifters, has died at 85 after a battle with liver cancer. While performing with the Drifters for more than 60 years, Thomas recorded hits such as “There Goes My Baby,” “Under the Boardwalk,” “This Magic Moment” and “Save the Last Dance for Me.” In 1988, he and the group were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

■ Talk of Harrison Ford being knocked off in Taylor Sheridan’s “1923” is a dead issue. Despite fan speculation that his character, rancher Jacob Dutton, would be killed in the “Yellowstone” prequel, Ford, 80, and fellow Oscar winner Helen Mirren, who plays Jacob’s wife, Cara, will both return for the second season of the Paramount Plus show.

■ “Girl From the North Country,” the Broadway musical driven by the songs of Bob Dylan, will become a movie starring Oscar winner Olivia Colman (“The Favourite”) alongside Woody Harrelson and singer Chloe Bailey. The film’s writer/director is Irish playwright Conor McPherson. No production start has been announced.

■ A former actor from the movie “Dances With Wolves” who is facing eight sex-related charges in Nevada, is also facing a charge in British Columbia. Documents show Nathan Chasing Horse was charged last week with one count of sexual assault linked to the village of Keremeos in September 2018.
