Western University drops masks
STAR STAFF, WIRE SERVICES
Western University said this week it will no longer mandate staff and students to wear masks in indoor spaces such as classrooms and lecture halls. The London university, which has more than 30,000 students, announced the change on its website and said students and staff are still strongly encouraged to wear masks in crowded indoor spaces to curb the spread of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. The university said it was lifting mandates in light of Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore’s announcement last week that respiratory infections are stabilizing in Ontario.
