Stratford gets $10M boost

The Stratford Festival has received $10 million from the federal government to help it recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was announced Tuesday that the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario has invested the money through its Major Events and Festivals Support Initiative to help the theatre institution “return to its pre-pandemic scale.” The festival has programmed 10 plays this season, five of which are funded through the federal money.
