Talk of $10 a day child care is nothing but hot air

I have been in the child-care field for more than 30 years. Back in the day, there were so many promises about affordable daycare. Today, in 2021, not much has changed.

We have full-day kindergarten to accommodate school-age children but it still is, and probably always will be, a challenge to find a solution for preschool children (18 months to three years). The costs of rent/mortgages, and our salaries is what makes child care so unaffordable. Cheaper costs would diminish quality care.

All this talk about $10 a day child care is just that — talk.
