Nature sending strong messages for us to change

Re We are not immune from effects of the climate crisis, Opinion, July 27

Mother Nature has had enough of the depredations of humans and has retaliated by unleashing the twin attacks of extreme weather and the pandemic.

Until we humans modify our behaviour to reverse the damage we’ve done to “our” planet, we can expect her to increase the pressure on us by devising increasingly devastating methods to force us to rein in our destructive behaviour.

Ian D’Mello, Toronto

As a senior of more than 90 years of age and a regular voter, I can say that our generation did not listen to scientists on what was going to happen to Mother Earth.

We never insisted our elected officials and greedy corporations implement the changes scientists were recommending decades ago.

Now, every day, we see the results of our inaction.

For this, I apologize to future generations, for leaving this for you to straighten out.

John Armour, Mississauga
