Governments should have helped out Greyhound

As Canadians emerge from lockdown eager to travel, a moment of silence for my cheap and cheerful Greyhound bus, June 13

What a nice article, it brought back some good memories.

I used the Greyhound many times, because they were more reliable and faster than our train system, and it took me right to downtown Toronto. Our train system is pathetic, one commuter train in the morning from Kitchener to

Toronto. Almost two hours to bridge a distance of less than 100 kilometres.

Yes, Greyhound is a private company but it was providing an essential and public service for people in rural areas. Why did our governments not give Greyhound financial aid?

How long will it take for Canada and Ontario to get with the times?

We need leadership to take us forward in a sustainable way and not the same old solutions. Paula Verlegh, Kitchener
